I get so much pleasure out of photographing peoples pets, it's great fun and all the more rewarding to have my efforts recognised. My aim
My aim as a photographer is not just to have flash in the pan imagery, on the screen today and forgotten tomorrow. I strive to create beautiful, meaningful artwork. Artwork that goes beyond the physical and becomes a part of your family story, that you and your loved ones can cherish for generations.
Throughout the Furtography session with you and your beloved family member I endeavour to capture beautiful images from which I can create stunning wall art for you to proudly hang in your home. To this end, I always advise that before your session you have a think about what kind of images you would like and where in your home would be the best place to hang your finished pieces.
Pricing
Furtography Session
I charge £75 for a one to two hour session within twenty miles of my home (75 pence per mile threreafter), based upon up to two pets and their parents (£100 for more pets/parents as these tend to last longer). This includes one free 10x8 mounted print.
Sometimes the session may be a bit shorter if I feel I've created enough quality images; this can sometimes be directly related to 'naughtiness' levels!
Prints and wall art
Digital media is a very transient thing and it's all too easy to lose precious memories over time as technology marches on... Floppy discs, anyone!?!
Truly the best and most long lasting way to enjoy the images of your treasured 'fur baby' is by having them made into wonderful prints or wall art.

A 5% discount is also available for any wall art gallery ordered and paid for on the day of the ordering session.
Should you wish to purchase all the high res digital files in jpeg form, I do make these available at a cost of £1200, either supplied on a usb stick or made available for download through Dropbox
Payment
A 50% non refundable deposit is required when booking your session, with the balance due on the day of the session. Should I need to cancel the session for any reason I will offer to arrange a new date but if this is not possible I will of course refund your deposit. A contract will be drawn up and emailed for you to sign and return, in order that we all know what is expected of each other.
All prints must be paid for when ordered.
I currently accept payment by Paypal, cash or bank transfer.
What to expect
1- Pre Shoot consultation
In order that you and your pet have the best experience possible, in the first instance I will arrange a convienient time for me to visit you and your Furbaby for a pre shoot consultation. We can spend a little time, over coffee and pet treats, getting to know each other, so that when the day of the session comes we are already good pals :)
We can have a chat about the style of artwork you prefer and look at the spaces where you would like to install it, after which I will take some photos of the space and upload them to my custom gallery design software, so that when we meet for your ordering session I can use my computer to ‘virtually’ display various wall art gallery options for you to choose between, all to scale on the photos of your own walls.
We will also have a discussion about different location options for your Furtography session and If you decide on an outdoor location I usually recommend early morning or late evening for the best possible results and will ask you to pencil in two or three possible dates to keep free. I will then confirm, depending on the weather, closer to the date.
2 - The Furtography session
I want you and your pet to really enjoy your Furtography session so before I start capturing any images, I like to spend some more time getting reacquainted with your furry friend again, just playing and getting them used to me and my equipment.
Once we are all comfortable around each other I will start the session, which will typically last for around an hour to 2 hours. Sometimes it can be quicker than this if I feel I have enough quality images to make a good selection and have covered any particular shots you may have requested. I will have pre planned a few ideas for shots but the main thing I keep under consideration is that your furbaby is always happy and never stressed in any way, so the session is often quite loose and flexible. I take my time to get the best images possible for you ,so I won’t rush things regardless of the session time, I just want it to be a pleasant and memorable experience for the both of you.
I shoot in raw for the best possible image quality and at this stage the images straight out of the camera are not the finished article but need to be processed in order to bring out the magic and reflect the essence of your furry friends.
Over the next couple of weeks I will cull, edit and process the images in preparation for your viewing.
3 - Viewing and Ordering session
After the session we will arrange a time for a viewing and ordering meeting at your home, where I will present my final selection of carefully edited and processed images in the form of a beautiful slideshow. Then, with the use of software that enables me to show how the wall art galleries you choose will look on your own wall (to scale), I will help you go through all the images and pick your favourites so you can select an image for your free 8x10 print and select your favourite gallery.
I will also place the images in an online gallery for one year. These will be low res versions perfect for online viewing but not downloadable. Should you wish in the future to order any further wall art from your session please contact me within a year, but please bear in mind that any early order discounts would not apply at this time.
With any image purchased in print form I will provide a 500 pixel, watermarked digital jpeg suitable for sharing on social media.
4 - Gallery Installation
From consultation through shooting, designing and presenting your wall art galleries I offer an end to end service and as far as I am concerned no Furtography session is complete until your gallery is displayed proudly on the wall. I always see all my work through from start to finish, so once your ordered gallery is ready I will gladly deliver it at a time convenient to you and personally install it at no extra cost.
